MAGnituDe explores the consequences of mass migration caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine for European democracy through the feminist lens of affective geopolitics. This perspective highlights how geopolitical narratives and tensions are felt and reproduced in everyday life—through emotions, bodies, homes, and personal relationships. Rather than focusing only on states and foreign policy, affective geopolitics shows the importance of intimate spaces and daily encounters in (re)producing geopolitical power.
Studying emotions, identities, and belongings in the context of war and displacement requires sensitive and innovative approaches. MAGnituDe meets this challenge through SensArticulate methodology—a unique set of methods combining sensitivity, the senses, and artistic expression.
